don't ask, don't tell

Today's vote, led by John McCain, was beyond despicable. Once again the GOP shows their complete disdain for LGBT Americans. I hope everyone contacts President Obama and their local Senators to express their views on what should be a non-issue.

  1. I already contacted my local senator and I'll never understand why this is even up for discussion! What does one's sexual orientation have to do with serving in the military? The GOP in Un-American!

  2. Heck yes Jeffrey! I had a class on human rights and US policy last semester, and we had some people from the Legal Servicemembers Defense Network come and talk to us about the law. It is despicable-- I have to tell myself those d-bags in Washington just have no idea how backwards and intrusive it really is. How in the world can we fight alongside Canada and Great Britain's forces who do NOT discriminate and still have the same weak-ass arguments that McCain keeps putting out??? Pisses me off.

  3. @miggity We are so behind. It's so stupid and so unnecessary. I know there's a lot of blame to go around but the GOP who uniformly voted against the repeal deserve the most vitriol. Dems need to wake up... we can't afford to have more GOP peeps up in the House and Senate.
